Join Yoel and Rabbi David for a musical Kabbalat Shabbat journey. Through chanting Psalms and Shabbat prayers with original melodies and guided intentions, we’ll connect with Spirit, allowing it to fill our hearts and uplift our souls as we welcome Shabbat.
Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
Spend a prayerful, praiseful Shabbat morning with Yoel and Rabbi David, followed by a catered kosher lunch at noon and a lunch’n’learn with Rabbi David at 12:30.
Saturday, 8 p.m.
Bid Shabbat farewell and welcome in the new week with intention and joy as Yoel leads us deeper into the Nava Tehila repertoire, including his original compositions.

About Yoel Sykes
Yoel studied music at the Center for Eastern Music in Jerusalem and flamenco guitar in the Fundacion de Christina Heeren school of Flamenco Arts in Seville, Spain. He is a main prayer leader in the Nava Tehila Jewish Renewal community in Jerusalem, and has toured for many years with the Nava Tehila band to Jewish communities throughout the U.S., leading soulful musical prayer experiences. He has composed many new melodies to traditional prayers, influenced by a variety of musical cultures, that can now be heard and sung in synagogues across Israel and around the globe.
